Kinhaven welcomes visitors to our school during the summer sessions. The best time to visit is during Senior Session or Junior Session when there are concerts by faculty and students on the weekends. All concerts are free and open to the public.
The first suggestion for anyone coming to work, study or visit Kinhaven is to look for the town of Weston on a map of Vermont. You can find it in the lower central part of the state. An important reference point is Mount Bromley (a large ski area and mountain) which is south and a slight bit west of Weston. Weston is about the same latitude as Bellows Falls and Chester, and 40 miles southeast of Rutland.

Southern Vermont is a lovely place to visit as highlighted in this article in The Boston Globe. There are many hotels and bed and breakfasts within a short distance from Kinhaven. We recommend making reservation ahead of time, as Vermont is quite busy in the summer.
Driving Directions
From the west and south:
Take NY Thruway (I-87) to Albany NY, then Rte 7 which becomes VT Rte 9, to Bennington VT. Take US 7 north to Manchester / Manchester Center, then east to Londonderry on Route 11 (Rte 30 shares the same roadway for a bit). At Londonderry take Rte 100 north for about 6 miles to Weston.
Go through Weston, and about 2 miles on the north side of town is Greendale Road. (You will see a sign to Greendale Camping Area and a Kinhaven sign at this point.) Turn left, crossing a bridge; and in about 100 feet, take an immediate left onto a dirt road, which is Lawrence Hill Road. Go about 1/2 mile to the Kinhaven sign and our main entrance on your right.
From the east and north:
Take I-91 north (or from northern VT it would be I-91 south). This highway is along the eastern border of Vermont. There is an exit onto Route 103 just north of Bellows Falls VT. Go west on Route 103 to Chester VT where Route 103 merges with Route 11. Stay on Route 11 and continue out of Chester a few miles until, on the right, you come to what was called the Hetty Green Motel & Polish American Restaurant (now empty and unused). The sign may have been taken down — at any rate, the building is run down and looks abandoned.
Take a right at this intersection where there is a sign pointing to Andover. The road has no route number and takes you for about 10 miles, through Andover (follow their posted speed limits very, very carefully!) over a mountain and down the mountain (watch out for a sharp curve) into Weston. At the foot of the hill, the road comes to a T with Route 100. Go north (turning right) for about 1 1/2 miles, to Greendale Road.
